Galvalume gutters suit homes set back from the water; for a house on the marsh edge, compare seamless gutters in aluminum or copper gutters. Professional Roofing notes copper weathers to a grayish bluish green in coastal air, and an AMPP corrosion article warns that copper touching aluminum corrodes the aluminum, so the two should never share a system.
Finally, check who has a say. Small parts of the island are inside the City of Beaufort, the rest is county, and some neighborhoods have their own association or ARB. Ask yours before new gutters go up.
